• WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON. It is a type of glass that becomes fused to the cast iron through high temperatures. A glass component, known as frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then heated between 1200 and 1400° F. The glass frit melts and bonds with the cast iron, creating a strong connection. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat resistant and impermeable to liquids and other substances.
• SIMPLE TO COOK AND CLEAN: The interior with porcelain enamel has a sleek surface that reduces sticking, encourages caramelization and prevents staining. Although enameled cast iron can be washed in a dishwasher, it is recommended to hand wash it with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush to maintain its excellent condition.
